Mamiya Legacy - Mamiya 7 II

Mamiya 7 II

The Mamiya 7 II is a medium format 6x7cm rangefinder camera with interchangeable leaf shutter lenses. It is "The Ultimate 6x7 Rangefinder", virtually no bigger than the top 35mm SLRs. Quiet, compact and lightweight, the Mamiya 7 II has a built-in Aperture Priority A/E meter with fully manual exposure capability. This allows one to create incredibly detailed 6x7cm "Ideal Format" images with ease. A panoramic adapter accessory can be used for true 24x65mm panoramic images. The precision rangefinder is ideal for quick, accurate focusing, particularly in low light situations.

The Mamiya 7 II offers double exposure capability and choice of black or champagne finish with a restyling over the original Mamiya 7 model. It uses all Mamiya 7 lenses including the latest 50mm f/4.5 superwide lens with optical finder and 210mm f/8 with optical finder.

The Mamiya 7 II. The World’s Quietest, Light and Compact 6x7

Mamiya Rangefinder Cameras

Following a tradition of over 50 years, Mamiya offers fast handling, compact medium format rangefinder cameras, now with interchangeable state-of-the-art optics and built-in metering. Rangefinder cameras have always been the classic choice of photojournalists and travel photographers who demand a near silent, light weight, fast handling camera that shows continuous, unobstructed viewing of the subject and the area around it.

Mamiya 7 II - The ultimate 6x7 rangefinder

At last, photographers have the creative freedom to express themselves with incredibly detailed, ideal format 6x7cm images or 24x65 panoramic format, using an elegant, silent, fast, versatile and lightweight rangefinder camera that sports six ultra-high performance lenses from 210mm telephoto to 43mm superwide.

Rangefinder Design

The camera design offers fast, easy and accurate precision rangefinder focusing, ideal even in low light situations. Fully coupled, with auto indexed and parallax corrected frame lines for four state-of-the-art lenses that are the pinnacle of modern optical design. The Mamiya 7 II’s rangefinder design also eliminates noise and vibration of typical SLR mirror movement, and coupled with Mamiya’s own silent and precise electromagnetic shutter, allows for quiet and unobtrusive work in any situation. You see the subject at the moment of exposure - without missing a heartbeat. Ideal for photojournalists and all candid photography.

6x7cm - The Ideal Format

The 6x7cm format is nearly 5 times larger than ordinary 35mm format. 6x7 is called the ideal format because it enlarges to standard 8x10" paper size with almost no cropping, thereby using virtually the entire image area. Professionals will find art directors and clients appreciate the large, detailed 6x7cm format over others.

35mm Panoramic Adapter Kit

The Mamiya 7 II are designed to take 35mm film cassettes when the optional panoramic kit is inserted. It yields spectacular 24x65mm images, an aspect ratio of 1:2.7. The optional 35mm panoramic kit consists of a panoramic film mask, a cassette holder, film take-up spool and rewind crank set. It is easy to attach and remove.

Automatic and Manual Control Metering

The Mamiya 7 II also have convenient and accurate built-in aperture priority AE (with 1/6 step increments), or completely manual metering with LED readouts. In both modes, +/-2 exposure compensation in 1/3 steps is possible. The AE system is able to provide excellent exposures for virtually any lighting situation, even with high contrast subjects. An AE lock is provided to give the photographer final exposure control. All shutter speeds can also be set manually on the camera’s shutter speed dial. In this mode the exposure meter can still be utilized by observing the LED readouts along the bottom edge of the viewfinder. Exposure compensation from +2 to -2 EV gives additional manual control to adjust for filters or to obtain certain desired effects.

Dark Slide" Curtain for Changing Lenses

The built-in curtain, activated by a control on the bottom of the camera, permits lens change without fogging film. It locks if the lens is not securely attached to the body.

Polaroid Capability

Aftermarket manufacturers offer sophisticated, fiber optic plate Polaroid backs which can be installed in place of the roll film back door on the Mamiya 7 II and cameras by the photographer. Most photographers using this capability regularly find that dedicating a second body to the Polaroid back is the best method of operation, as the back door cannot be removed in mid-roll.

Mamiya Legacy - Mamiya RZ67 Pro IID

World Class Reliability and Performance

The Mamiya RZ67 Pro IID is the natural evolution of the legendary RZ Pro II, the industry standard used by many of today’s most renowned photographers and artists because of its large 6x7cm ideal format negative size, over four and a half times larger than 35mm. The use of digital backs, such as the Mamiya ZD Back or others, is easy through direct, digital communication with the camera body.

Also notable are the RZ’s ultra-high performance lenses, and multi-format versatility. Distinctive features include a convenient revolving back, bellows focusing, large, bright viewfinder, and extensive system of accessories.

Unbeatable combination

The Mamiya RZ Professional system has long been one of the favorite camera systems in the world. It is no wonder, when you look at its combination of smart, photographer friendly features, and its world-renowned optics. From its legendary "Ideal Format", almost perfect for making 8 1/2 x 11 proportional images with virtually no image cropping or format waste, to its unique revolving back, which provides vertical or horizontal composing, the Mamiya RZ Professional system has earned the respect of professional photographers around the world.

Now with the demand from photographers to provide clients with clearly superior digital image quality, Mamiya introduces the new RZ80, 33 and 22 digital camera kits with Mamiya/Leaf digital backs. They are the result of an evolution into the next generation of digital large sensor cameras. They offer advanced microprocessor technology for direct communication of all camera functions to their 80mp, 33mp or 22mp digital back through the MSC (Mamiya Serial Communication) system. The result is cable-free digital operation just as smooth and trouble-free as shooting with film.

Of course the new RZ80, 33 and 22 offer professional photographers the same exclusive features of its legendary predecessors such as:

Focusing

Rack and pinion bellows focusing, with left and right course and fine focusing adjustment knobs plus a locking focus lever. The bellows focusing system provides for close-up focusing capabilities with every RZ lens, as well as infinity focusing—all without mounting-and-unmounting cumbersome adapters.

Lenses

Interchangeable Mamiya world-class quality lenses, with built-in leaf shutters offer shutter speeds from 8 to 1/400sec. (plus T-setting for up 32 seconds). Electronic flash synchronization is achieved at all shutter speeds and intermediate shutter speeds can be set on the camera’s speed dial setting for more critical digital exposure control.

Interchangeable Viewfinders

Choose from the waist-level finder (included) for low-angle versatility, or one of the eye-level prisms, such as the AE Prism Finder FE701 which provides A/S Matrix metering, 1/6 f/stops exposure accuracy plus an LED function display in the viewfinder.

Interchangeable power winder (optional)

The Power Winder 2 is powered by AA batteries or an AC Adapter and adds ease of use by cocking the shutter and resetting the mirror automatically. It produces single or sequential exposures at about 1 frame per second. It can also be remote controlled with radio or infrared transmitters.

Many fail-safe system checks, warn the photographer both with visual and audible warning alert signals. And as you would expect, the new RZ80, RZ33 and RZ22 are system compatible with all existing RZ lenses and most accessories.
